Join a global movement turning words into action

By becoming a signatory, your organisation shows its commitment to these principles and joins a global community turning words into action. This commitment doesn’t just sit on paper - it influences strategy, shapes structures and guides decision-making.
For many organisations, it has meant shifting priorities, reallocating resources and creating lasting change in how sport is delivered, led and experienced by women and girls. It also opens opportunities to share successes, learn from others, and be part of a collective push reshaping sport worldwide.
The Brighton plus Helsinki Declaration is the leading global framework for advancing gender equality in sport and physical activity. First launched in Brighton in 1994 and reinforced in Helsinki in 2014, it now has the backing of more than 600 organisations worldwide .
At its core are 10 Principles - covering leadership, resources, education, research, opportunity and representation - all designed to make sport more inclusive for women and girls everywhere.
