IWG Year 4 Annual Report Published
IWG has today published the Year 4 Annual Report which details the work of the IWG Secretariat during its fourth and final year in the UK.
Key highlights from the report
Connections
This year we continued our approach towards growing and connecting the IWG network of networks and building partnerships including a refreshed Digital Strategy and new approach to signing up and onboarding signatories to the Brighton plus Helsinki Declaration.
We also built relationships with a wide range of organisations who we were delighted to announce as Partners to the 9thIWG Global Summit on Women & Sport including Procter & Gamble, Sky UK, Standard Chartered Bank, Sport Wales and This Girl Can.
Titled ‘Beyond the Breakthrough’, the Summits focused on what it takes to embed, strengthen and sustain progress. Drawing together over 900 delegates and speakers from 82 countries who forged connections, built collaborations and explored solutions to creating lasting change for women and girls in and through sport and physical activity.
The Summit included the formal handover of the IWG Secretariat to Brazil who will be taking over from the 1 October 2026.
Insight
We continued to drive a research and insight led approach to gender equality including the publication of the monthly IWG Newsletter to proactively share the latest news, insights, events and resources with the IWG network, and the ongoing development of the IWG Insight Hub.
Advocacy
In this, our final year, we increased our focus on growing the number and variety of signatories to the Brighton plus Helsinki Declaration. Creating a simple ‘onboarding’ process to capture key information to ensure learnings and insights are shared with the global network.
During the Uks 4-year term we signed up an additional 143 signatories taking the total number to 753, including our first ‘place based’ signatories drawing together multiple organisations working together to drive progress.
