IWG Year 3 Annual Report Published

IWG has today published the Year Three Annual Report, which details the work of the IWG Secretariat during its third year in the UK.

 


Key highlights from the report

 

Connections

 

We continued our focus on maintaining and building upon our relationships with key stakeholders within or new to the IWG network of networks, signing MOUs with UN Women, FISU (International University Sports Federation) and TAFISA (The Association for International Sport for All).

 

And were delighted to announce the IOC (International Olympic Committee) as a Supporting Partner to the IWG 9th Global Summit on Women & Sport.

  

Insight

 

We continue to drive a research and insight led approach to gender equality including the relaunch of our ‘Shift\Sessions’ (formerly known as the IWG Webinar Series) which will reflect the five themes of the Global Summit – Leadership, Visibility, Investment, Innovation and Participation.

 

And the ‘Signatory Spotlight’ feature on the IWG website which brings to life the work of past IWG Brighton plus Helsinki Declaration signatories.

 

Advocacy

 

We made the case for advancing opportunities for women and girls in and through sport on a range of platforms around the globe including:

 

·       18th Council of Europe Conference of Ministers Responsible for Sport, Portugal

·       ASEAN Conference on Gender Equality in Sports, Malaysia

·       WiMENA (Women in Middle East and North Africa) Conference, Saudi Arabia

·       OCA (Olympic Council of Asia)  Gender Equity Seminar, Brunei

·       JCRWS (Japanese Centre for Research on Women in Sport) 10th Anniversary International Symposium, Japan

 

Whilst also welcoming 19 further new signatories of the Brighton plus Helsinki Declaration, each of whom are committed to the Declaration principles and sharing their learnings through the IWG network of networks.

·       Japanese Rowing Federation
