IWG is delighted to welcome Rupinder Bains to its UK Steering Committee, which serves to support the implementation of the IWG Strategic Plan 2022-2026 while the Secretariat operates from the UK.
As a qualified Solicitor, Rupinder has been practising law for over 24 years and is the Managing Director of Pinder Reaux & Associates – a law firm specialising in commercial and civil litigation, media, sports and matrimonial/family law. Amongst her accolades, Rupinder was jointly appointed by the Premier League and the English Football League to the Board of the FA in 2017, making history by becoming their first Asian appointment, and she currently sits on the boards of the Sport and Recreation Alliance, The Lily Foundation and Integral Sports Management.
Speaking of joining the UK Steering Committee, Rupinder said: “It’s a pleasure to be joining the IWG’s UK Steering Committee and to be able to offer my support to the Secretariat. I have worked hard throughout my career to tackle discrimination, and I’m looking forward to bringing my learnings to the IWG to help them deliver against their strategic priorities.”
Annamarie Phelps CBE OLY said: “I’m delighted to welcome Rupinder to our UK Steering Committee and I’m looking forward to the IWG benefitting from the experience that she brings. Her experience at Board level in dealing with diversity and inclusion practices will complement the existing skillset of our talented UK Steering Committee as we advance towards our Vision of sport and physical activity contributing to a world where all women and girls thrive.
“I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Dame Janet Beer as she steps down from the UK Steering Group for her unwavering support and guidance over the past year and a half and indeed during the bid process to bring the IWG to the UK.”
